A collection of classic mid-20th Century textile designs uncovered in a saleroom in Yorkshire have gone on public display.

Handpainted designs by Sheila Bownas were bought by Chelsea Cefa, who was looking for artwork to hang in her new home.

The designer, born in Linton near Skipton, North Yorkshire, was relatively unknown until her death 10 years ago.

Her work is now being exhibited at The Mercer Art Gallery in Harrogate.
